Snore, Fart, Lick
Calling all dog people - know of any good dog beds that don't cost a small fortune? We want to get a bed for Duke because we'd like to reclaim what's left of our pathetic love seat for the humans in the house. We found a really nice one online with a zip-off cover, non-skid bottom and all that jazz... but in Duke's size it costs $175 with shipping. Ouch. Duke's a big boy (almost 100lbs) and he needs a bed that can support his weight without becoming flat as a pancake in less than a week.
We're on the hunt. If you know of any good leads please let me know.

Our border collie/Lab mix weighs about 75 lbs. She has two beds - one downstairs and one in our bedroom (yes, she's totally spoiled lol). We found one at Petsmart, for a fairly reasonable price, and the other from a local place. They both are like mattresses, with zipoff covers, and very supportive. The petsmart one was $50 and the other $30 believe it or not! There are also sales/deals at drsfostersmith.com which is a great pet supplies company.

Hmmm do you have any Ross or TJMaxx or Marshall's near you? You can usually get high-end items there (including pet items) for really reasonable with no shipping.

Hi. I'm friend's with L. Britt, stop by your blog from time to time. Recently adopted two rescue dogs and priced beds. Costco has the best prices, $20 for an extra-large bed, washable cover, filled w/ cedar chips, super nice. Not available on website, but well worth the trip to the store if you can find someone who has a membership.

Funny, I posted this same question not long ago, XL dog beds are outrageous! I ended up buying a new XL one on sale at Petco after xmas, and then cutting the base foam of his old one out and adding it to the new one to make it double-thick and soft. Laddie didn't get out of bed the whole first day, he was so comfortable.
