I knew it would come.
Today is the day Barack Hussein Obama became our president. He is everyone's president, not just those of us who voted for him. He represents us all. Hopefully he will continue his record of representing his constituency with dignity and respect.
So that was the good part.
Today is also the day Matthew lost his job. His crazy coked out boss lost it this morning and now Matthew is unemployed. His phone has been ringing off the hook ever since whether it's people from the company calling or clients or vendors. Everyone is concerned and everyone's first question is something along the lines of "What the hell did that asshole do to you?" In my estimation that pretty much sums up the situation.
So right now now he's updating his resume and networking his booty off. We are not defeated. We are not without hope. Today, President Obama took office. How could we be hopeless on a day like today? We'll get through it like the millions of other Americans who have lost their jobs in this craptastic economy. We will find the silver lining in this cloud and we will come through it with smiles on our faces, hand in hand, with a tiny tot in tow in less than 2 months. It's how we roll.

It is a great day...but of course, a tough day for you too. You attitude is amazing, and I have no doubt that you will indeed be just fine.

I posted this quote yesterday; make it your own:
Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.
James Allen, (1864-1912), philosophical writer of British
nationality known for his inspirational books and poetry.

Today was one remarkable day, we won't soon forget...a giant step forward for this nation. We all listened to the inauguration at work today, on the radio. My eyes blurred with tears of pride, inspiration and hope.
Now I'm teary over Matthew's bad news. His boss sounds like such pond scum. I am so sorry that Matthew has to suffer for this fellow's failings. But your attitude and support will see him through this for sure! Will keep you both in my prayers. Hope things turn around very fast. **HUGS**
Your baby is gonna be fortunate to have such amazing, strong parents!

Anisa - Thanks, girlie. I know we'll be just fine, too. Tough times? Sure! But we'll be fine and we're still 2 & 1/2 very lucky people.
Lyn - "Your vision is the promise of what you one day shall be..." How wonderful! I'm going to remember that one.
Retro Girl - Every prayer and good vibe counts, so thank you, my friend! His boss is pond scum, indeed. Now he's free of that man and his insanity. That's a bright side! We'll come through this just fine. This little baby isn't going to have a clue that we're having a hard time financially. It's not money that makes the world go 'round, after all. ;-)
Rover - Exactly. If anyone knows how to be resourceful in the face of un and under employment it's you, my dear. When you get back in town I say yumtastic dinners at home are in order. Nice and cheap and we love having you and Maxine at our place.

You have one of the best attitudes of anyone I know. I have a feeling that everything will work out just fine and the next job Matthew has will be so much better then this last one.

GREAT attitude Melissa and I have no doubt at all that y'all will be just fine.

pond scum indeed. (I've had a few pond scum bosses in my lifetime... they make you better people. I think.)
You're both in my prayers.
